County, city offices closed for New Year’s

All county and city offices will be closed New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, and several city of Bremerton offices will be closed Jan. 2 as part of the city’s plan to cut costs by closing some city offices for normal business on Fridays.
The Kitsap County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Facility closed Dec. 25 for heavy facility maintenance and reopens Jan. 2.
The recycling and garbage facilities at Bainbridge Island, Silverdale, Hansville, Poulsbo, and Olalla are closed New Year’s Day. Additionally, all of the facilities close at 2 p.m. Dec. 31, except Bainbridge Island, which has normal hours both days.
The Olympic View Transfer Station in Port Orchard is closed New Year’s Day. This facility has normal hours Dec. 31.
Waste Management and Bainbridge Disposal will not provide service on New Year’s Day. Waste Management’s Thursday pick-ups are on Friday, and Friday pick-ups are on Saturday.
