The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a possible missing person after a bicycle was found unclaimed aboard a Bremerton ferry Wednesday morning.

The red Huffy Eagle Sport bicycle was located abandoned on the vessel Kitsap by Washington State Ferries employees who cannot verify if the bicycle's owner got off the vessel in Seattle, according to a Coast Guard news release.

The incident comes just more than a week after a similar incident in which a car was abandoned aboard a ferry. The missing person in that case was found a few days later.

WSF personnel searched the vessel and found no one associated with the bicycle. WSF is working in conjunction with Washington State Patrol to identify the owner of the bicycle.

A helicopter from Port Angeles and the Coast Guard's 25-foot small response boat are searching the Bremerton to Seattle ferry's path.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the missing person, call the WSF Operations Center at (206) 515-3441.
