A 54-year-old Silverdale woman was seriously injured near Brinnon Sunday when her motorcycle hit a guardrail, sending her flying into a tree.

The woman was traveling northbound on Highway 101 with a group of motorcycle riders at about 9:30 a.m. when her motorcycle veered to the right off the roadway, hit a guardrail and traveled along it for about 35 feet before she was ejected and hit a tree about 20 feet down a ravine, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The woman was wearing a helmet and sustained back injuries. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
