Kitsap County is partnering with the Bremerton School District to provide free shuttle service from Kitsap Mall to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds during the Kitsap County Fair & Stampede, which is on now through Sunday.

Two buses will run from Kitsap Mall’s north parking lot to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Participants should park in the parking lot near the Kohl’s department store.

Kitsap Transit’s Board of Directors eliminated all special bus service this year, but the county and BSD teamed up to offer the service to Fair-goers.

“We know Kitsap Transit faces the same budget challenges many agencies are facing and must cut services to meet those challenges,” South Kitsap Commissioner Charlotte Garrido said. “Our Fair volunteers got creative and came up with a terrific solution. Partnering with the school district provides a huge benefit to residents attending the Fair by continuing the well-used and much-appreciated shuttles.”

The buses will run through the Fair’s parking areas to transport people from those areas to the Fairgrounds.
