The driver of a small passenger vehicle was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Tuesday after he rolled his 2008 Honda Civic numerous times on State Route 303.

The 33-year-old Keyport man was driving southbound on SR 303 from Kitsap Mall Boulevard in Silverdale around 3:15 p.m. Witnesses told authorities the man was unconscious just south of the intersection with SR 3 and the car bounced off a jersey barrier, crossed northbound traffic, left the roadway and rolled numerous times into trees over an embankment, according to Washington State Patrol.

The man was trapped inside the vehicle and Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue and Poulsbo Fire Department crews used chainsaws to cut through the trees and brush around the car. Struts were used to stabilize the car before removing the man, according to CKFR.

Medics transported the man to Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale where he was subsequently airlifted to Harborview for internal bleeding.

The car was totaled. The man may have had a medical condition, according to WSP.
