The Kitsap Humane Society has an especially high number of kittens and cats in need of good homes.

The shelter is offering a special as an incentive for animal lovers to adopt a pet at a reduced rate. The Humane Society is hosting a special from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 and Sunday, Nov. 1 in which 25 percent will be taken off the adoption rate for every kitten, cat and some dogs. The shelter is located at 9167 Dickey Road NW in Silverdale. For more information, call Rance McEntyre, operations director, at (360) 692-6977, ext. 134 or e-mail animalcontrol@kitsap-humane.org.
