East Bremerton bank robbed again, second time in three weeks

Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives, working in conjunction with special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are investigating an early evening robbery of a Central Kitsap branch of Chase Bank (formerly Washington Mutual).

The robbery occurred around 5:45 p.m., Nov. 20 at the branch office located inside the Fred Meyer Store at 5050 State Highway 303 NE, East Bremerton. A single adult male stepped up to a teller’s position and handed a note to a bank employee.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money from the bank teller, the suspect was last seen leaving the store on foot and then observed leaving the shopping center riding a smaller-size BMX type bicycle.

Kitsap County Central Communications was first notified of the robbery at 5:50 p.m. First responding sheriff’s units arrived at 5:59 p.m., assisted by patrol officers from Bremerton Police Department. Sheriff’s detectives were notified and responded along with FBI special agents.

Sheriff’s detectives provided a description of the suspect as:

White male, thin build, approximately 25 years-old, between 5’ 06” to 5’ 10” tall, with short blonde hair, no facial hair and wearing eyeglasses.

He was wearing a black hooded coat with silver lining on the coat and sleeves, dark colored “beanie” type hat, dark gloves, blue jeans and light colored athletic shoes. The suspect had the coat’s hood up over his head.

Investigators believe that this suspect may be the same individual who robbed a branch of the Key Bank in Belfair, Mason County, on Friday, Nov. 6 as the descriptions are almost identical.

The investigation into the Oct. 29 robbery of this bank branch was concluded with the arrest of Jimi M. Sage, 53, the next day. He remains in custody charged with robbery, 1st degree with bail set at $50,000.
