A 22-year-old Bremerton woman four months pregnant miscarried after she was struck head-on while driving in Silverdale Sunday.

Washington State Patrol investigators believe the wreck was caused when a 47-year-old Snohomish man crossed the centerline while driving north on State Highway 303 south of Ridgetop Boulevard NW at about 11:07 a.m., according to a statement.

The woman, driving a 2001 Hyundai Accent, suffered leg, chest and abdominal injuries. She was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

The crash is under investigation, but a medical situation may have contributed to the man swerving the 1994 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving into oncoming traffic, the statement said.

The man was taken to Tacoma General Hospital with face and chest injuries.

A 45-year-old woman and two juveniles riding in the sport utility vehicle were taken to Harrison Medical Center with minor injuries. The three were treated and released.
