A column of black smoke in Seabeck could be seen Monday as a 22-foot Trophy Bayliner boat was consumed by flames.

No one was injured in the blaze at Misery Point Park in Seabeck just before 10:30 a.m., according to Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue.

The two Belfair men aboard said they beached the boat back at the ramp when they noticed that the area around the battery isolator switch started smoking and then burst into flames. They attempted to douse the fire with two fire extinguishers before the fire grew too large and they were forced to jump ship.
