In the results posted Friday afternoon Powers had 1,191 votes (49.96 percent) to 1,175 (49.29 for Lucarelli. About 900 votes are left to be counted.
Local voters will choose two Kitsap County commissioners, several state representatives and even a state senator as they mail in their ballots or head to the polls to make their voices heard.
To that end, the Bremerton branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is sponsoring a candidate forum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Kitsap Community Resources building, 1201 Park Ave. in Bremerton. The event is free.
