Tip-a-Cop today
June 11, 2008 · Updated 6:20 PM
Kitsap County Sheriffs deputies are typically seen patrolling local roadways. But today, many of them are serving another important purpose: raising money for Special Olympics.
Theyll be trading in their gear for aprons for todays Tip-a-Cop at Red Robin in Silverdale. They wont be taking home their tips, however, instead theyll be donating them to Special Olympics as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Campaign.
Last year, sheriffs deputies collected more than $6,500. Help them beat that total. Beyond just beating last years tips, help the Silverdale location rake in more than the 31 other Red Robin restaurants in the state also participating. All of the restaurants are in this together, but a little bragging rights never hurt.
All you have to do is grab a bite to eat and tip your waiter maybe even a little more than you normally would seeing as its for a good cause. Sheriffs deputies will be on-hand from noon to 8 p.m. All tips donated today stay in the county and help local Special Olympics athletes. Youll leave feeling satisfied not only from a tasty meal, but because you know you are doing your part to give back.
