Veterans ceremony: A superb job by Troop 1541

Boy Scout Troop 1541 Flag Retirement Ceremony was a wonderful tribute to our veterans.

On a November night, they proudly stood with 80 members of our community to retire the old faded and worn flags.

By my count, there were 30 U.S., 3 battle, 12 service and 2 POW-MIA flags retired.

Thanks to the V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and all who preserved these flags until this ceremony.

As a community, we should feel proud of these young men and their homage to our veterans.

I look forward to seeing this tradition grow.
