Supporting El Centro will cost us

In Ms. SackettÂ’s recent letter (CK Reporter, Sept. 5) she urged Kitsap County residents to support El Centro de la Familia and in doing so it will save the taxpayers thousands of dollars in legal, health and educational services that the program provides these families.

To not identify these families as illegal aliens is intentionally deceptive.

To skip over the cost we already pay to offset their schooling, medical care and legal costs within the criminal justice system is disingenuous at best. The cost to the Kitsap taxpayer will continue to grow as these families flock to the counties and cities that provide the most financial support.

Those contributing to United Way will soon discover that their contributions are used to support the growing number of undocumented aliens residing in Kitsap County.

For United Way of Kitsap County not to tell their donators of that up front is an acknowledgment that it would be unpopular. I will not donate to United Way, but instead choose to make my financial donations to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Helping American servicemen and women who have sacrificed for us, instead of financially supporting illegal aliens who will only cost us.
