We wish them the best
Thanks for the free advertising! I opened the copy of the Central Kitsap Reporter that came to my house on Wednesday (July 4) to page A6 and saw the name of the business that my husband and I have owned and operated since May 1998. How nice of the Reporter to remember us on the occasion of our 10th anniversary!
I noticed a slight error in the title but that often happens. We have received checks written to Just A Cup of Tea, Pats Tea Shop, Cup O Tea, The Tea Shop and various other permutations of the actual name for years. (The only one the bank wouldnt accept was to Pats Cookie Jar since that is the real name of another business in Bremerton).
Then, I looked at the photo and saw that the story wasnt about us at all. We closed our storefront in 2003. Since then we have been happily providing tea through Internet sales, word of mouth, mail order and just staying in touch with our regular customers.
We wish the gals at Aroma Tea and Herb Company all the best. Tea drinkers are wonderful customers and they always have time to chat.

Far too much power
Our president and vice president have accumulated far more power in the executive branch of our government than the founders ever intended and which are not provided for in our Constitution. Examples: Forbidding current or previous staff to testify before Congress when subpoenaed (even Nixon knew he couldnt flout the constitution by denying John Deans testimony to the Watergate hearings).
Concealing from the citizens and Congress the fact that they had approved torture and rendition (even though they wouldnt call it that) in contradiction to U.S. law.
Pardoning Scooter Libby, essentially exempting their own administration from the rule of law. Undermining our constitutional rights to privacy in our communication, our homes and our persons.
Eliminating guaranteed civil and legal rights to American citizens detained due to suspicions they may be involved in terrorism.
President Bush and Vice President Cheney have turned our Constitution on its head. It is essential that they be impeached before they are allowed to hand off these powers to whichever person is elected to be our next president. Thousands of Americans have given their lives to ensure that our democracy and our Constitution endure. It is incumbent upon we who enjoy such liberty take every action needed to ensure that our members of Congress move to impeach this imperial administration.
