Lent’s plethora of broken promises

Thanks to the CK Reporter, the public now knows what many Republicans learned the hard way. The truth is the current CK county commissioner is no different than her predecessor.

Before being elected, she campaigned that the primary responsibility of elected officials was to protect individual rights of citizens, that valid reasons be provided before government imposes new rules and regulations on citizens and businesses, and that the county wastes our hard-earned tax dollars. Yet, as the CK Reporter article points out, she has voted against her own platform on most occasions.

You don’t have to be a land developer to feel the heavy impacts from the new land use policies she’s imposed. Everyone in the county will pay more for homes and face more bureaucratic restrictions on using land they own while paying high taxes for the “privilege” of owning it.

Kitsap residents need an advocate in county government. We need a leader who can and will make knowledgeable fair decisions based on law and for the good of the county. I back Jack Hamilton.
