County government

What’s going on?

To all appearances there seems to be a total lack of leadership which has created utter chaos at the administrative level of our local government. Why else have there been several directors of Community Development who move on within a relatively short period of time? Why else would there be so much “dysfunction” in the Fire Marshal’s office? Why else would the director of Parks and Facilities abruptly leave his position?

One would certainly get the impression from the newspaper account that he was given a project manager position for the building of the courthouse, which undoubtedly not only didn’t fit his role as supervisor of a parks and recreation department but would be inhumanly possible to do an adequate job on both tasks. To all appearances the individuals who have left are well qualified but are expected to accomplish major tasks without adequate personnel, time or money.

Why have there been literally millions of dollars budgeted for consultants while the internal problems are perpetuated?

These radical changes affect the lives of every citizen in the county. We deserve better!
