The fourth annual West Sound Bremerton Senior Games took place, and the final numbers were impressive. More than 200 athletes age 50 and over hit the courts, pool, track, lanes and links, looking to qualify for the state senior games in the greater Olympia area.

Pickleball proved to be the fastest-growing sport in the games, with participation tripling since last year. Disc golf made its debut this year and numbers are bound to grow there as well.

More than 300 people attended the banquet at the end of the games in July at the Kitsap Fairgrounds Pavilion. The banquet was catered by Outback Steakhouse, and attendees were entertained by the Sunshine Singers and the Kitsap Kickers dance troupe.
