Central Kitsap senior outfielder Caleb Brown was selected in the 42nd round of the MLB Draft on Friday, the second day of baseball's annual draft.

Brown, an All-Narrows League first-teamer as well as a participant in the upcoming state all-star games, was taken with the 1,282 overall pick by the Boston Red Sox.

Brown hit .453 for the Cougars this season, helping lead the team all the way to the 4A WIAA State Baseball Championships quarterfinals this season. He also hit three homers to go with 23 RBI, 24 runs and six doubles.

Already committed to the University of Washington, Brown will now have to choose between UW and professional baseball.
