Danny Wilm broke down the Klahowya defense with two long touchdown runs and the Eagles never recovered last Friday night, losing a 35-7 decision to Steilacoom in Nisqually League play.

The defeat left the Eagles (0-5) still looking for their first victory of the season. They’ll be in Belfair Friday night to try their luck against a North Mason team that is 3-2 after beating Eatonville 17-10 last weekend.

Wilm scored on a 65-yard run in the first quarter, then added a 43-yard TD run to help the Sentinels take a 21-0 halftime lead. Quarterback Kyle Rix took over from there, notching touchdown runs of 44 and 11 yards, both in the third quarter.

Klahowya came back to get its only points of the game on an 8-yard run by Shawn Squires in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles couldn’t contend with Steilacoom’s team speed as the Sentinels rolled up more than 400 offensive yards.
