Sjostrom powers Eagles to victory

Catcher Karen Sjostrom belted a home run and had three hits to lead Klahowya to an 8-2 win over Foster in a Nisqually League fastpitch game on Friday, March 29.
Pitcher Caitllin Henning scattered five hits to get the win for the Eagles (2-2 league, 4-2 overall).
Baseball Olympic sophomore Jeff Shaw doubled and tripled, but the Trojans lost a 7-3 non-league game to visiting Clover Park on Saturday, March 30. The Trojans (1-7) played at Central Kitsap on Tuesday, April 2. ... Klahowya out-hit Foster 9-5, but the Eagles lost 12-6 to the visiting Bulldogs. Klahowyas now 0-4 in Nisqually League play.
Track Central Kitsap hurdler Lauren Sato was second in the 100 hurdles (16.7) and ran legs on the winning 4x200 relay and second-place 4x100 relay at the Issaquah Invitational on Saturday, March 30. Teammate Jolina Fanua won the discus (104-1) with a personal record. Klahowyas Aly Hoover (1:04.2) was second in the 400 and ran a leg on the winning 4x100 relay at the Saints Invitational at Interlake High in Bellevue. Sarah Sheridan of Klahowya won the 100 hurdles (17.1).
