Central Kitsap, once again, has separated itself from the pack in the Narrows League fastpitch race.

The Cougars posted a pair of 3-0 home victories — beating Port Angeles on Friday, April 19, and Gig Harbor on Monday, April 22.

Jackie Miller pitched both shutouts for the Cougars (6-1 league, 10-1 overall). She threw a one-hitter against Gig Harbor (4-2, 6-3) and drove in all of the runs with a 3-run home run in the third inning.

Against Port Angeles, Miller threw a three-hitter. Sheena Stangler delivered a two-run single during a three-run third inning.

Central, which took on Bremerton in a makeup game on Tuesday, April 23, plays rival Olympic today at the Fairgrounds. The Trojans (3-4 league, 5-5 overall) are trying to secure one of the league’s four playoff spots.

Nisqually League — Klahowya continues to roll through league fastpitch competition, whipping Vashon 13-3 on Monday, April 22, and Sequim 6-4 on Friday, April 19. The Eagles are 10-2 overall, losing only to Nisqually leader North Mason. Their other loss came on a day when the Eagles couldn’t field enough players.
