The 25th Annual Whale of a Run was as big as expected and then some at the Whaling Days festival on Saturday.

With a record turnout of more than 820 runners in the four-mile, one-mile and kids races, the event remained one of the most popular at the yearly festival.

369 entered the 4- mile Race, 287 in the 1-mile Run and 164 turned out for the Kids' Dash.

Overall, the record-setting race brought in more than $10,000 for Hospice of Kitsap County.
