The Central Kitsap softball team came a step closer to the Narrows League Bridge Division title when the Cougs shut out division rival South Kitsap 6-0 on Friday.
Erika Quint pitched a one-hitter and the Cougars had just three hits themselves as errors gave CK the edge. Quint also had nine strikeouts and just two walks for the Cougs while going 1-3 with 2 RBI at the plate.
Teammate Kendl Sours also drove one in, going 1-4.
The game was knotted at 0-0 until the bottom of the fourth, when South committed the bulk of its six errors in the game, allowing CK to score 5 in the frame before adding one in the fifth inning.
Centrals win, while moving them closer to the title with an undefeated league record (12-4, 10-0), also pulled Olympic within a half game of the Wolves for the fourth and final Bridge playoff spot.
North Kitsap and Gig Harbor have also clinched Bridge spots.
In the Bay Division, Stadium and Wilson have earned berths.
