Five wrestlers from Kitsap County have been selected to be part of the Washington state Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestleing teams and will represent the state in National Competition next week. Adam Burchette from Klahowya, Jake Velarde from Kingston Junior High, Cody Yeik from Fairview Junior High and Caleb O’Halek from Fairview will join the Washington schoolboy dual team. They leave June 18 for Indianapolis to compete at nationals.
Branden Yeik from Olympic has been named to the cadet dual team. He will join the Washington cadet team for freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling competition in Kansas City, Kan., June 25. The Washington cadet team is coached by Central Kitsap wrestling coach Mike Harter.
