Sports notices OHS baseball clinic
The Olympic High School (OHS) Baseball Booster Club is sponsoring the sixth annual Baseball Skills Clinic April 1.
Presented by OHS baseball coach Nate Andrews, the clinic is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade and is at the Kitsap Fairgrounds Baseball complex.
The session for grades K-4 is from 8:30 a.m. to noon and the session for grades 4-8 is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The first 50 registration forms per session receive priority. As of today, Andrews said there is plenty of space for walk-up registration.
Baseball skills to be covered include injury prevention, throwing, catching, sliding, base-running, bunting, hitting and fielding.
Registration is $40 and includes a T-shirt. It is recommended all participants prepare and dress with rain in mind. The OHS gymnasium will be used if the field is unplayable.
Registration forms are available via e-mail request and on the program’s Web site, http://olhs.cksd.wednet.edu/baseball/.
For additional information, contact Andrews at (360) 662-2711 or email@example.com (preferred).

The Olympic Summer Baseball program is holding an open tryout for boys ages 13-15 who will attend Olympic High School in the future. The tryouts are from noon to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Zone Sportsplex in Poulsbo.
Olympic Summer Baseball will consist of two teams for the first time, serving athletes who are interested in preparing themselves for competition at the high school level.
Tomorrow’s tryout is for the younger team; all players with two or more years of high school eligibility after this school year are eligible. The programs are affiliated with American Legion Baseball.
Cougar baseball camp
Central Kitsap High School (CKHS) baseball coach Bill Baxter and his staff are hosting Cougar Baseball Camp tomorrow.
The camp is open to players in kindergarten through eighth grade and is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CKHS baseball field. It will be moved to the CKHS gymnasium if inclement weather occurs.
Registration forms are available at the CKHS athletic Web site, http://www-ckhs.cksd.wednet.edu/STAFF/billb/CKAthleticshomepage.htm. Cost is $40 per player.
NABA hardball, an 18+ men’s baseball league, is hosting tryouts from noon to 3 p.m. April 4 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds.
Day-of registration begins at 10 a.m. A non-refundable fee of $150 is due the day of the tryouts and an additional $130 is due within five days of the league draft. Tryouts will be rescheduled for either April 5 or April 18 if they are cancelled due to rain. The rainout hotline is (360) 779-2124.
