CK golf scramble

Community members are invited to participate in the second annual Gridiron Golf Scramble benefiting the Central Kitsap High School football team.

The event is at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club. Cost is $60 for members and $110 for non-members and includes greens fees, range balls and a barbeque and auction.

Baseball tryouts

The Stingers Baseball Club is hosting tryouts for the 2010 season Aug. 3, 5, 7 and 10 for 11U, 12U, 14U and 16U levels. Tryouts are at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The search is on for all position players for all teams. Players must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during tryouts. Please bring a copy of player’s certified birth certificate. For additional information, call (360) 871-0734.

Conditioning

The program is open to all seventh- through 12th-grade students who would like to stay in shape over the summer by developing both their endurance through running and their core muscles through a variety of exercises.

Participants will meet Monday through Friday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at different locations and utilize a pool one day each week. There is no cost to participate in the program, but participants are responsible to pay pool-usage fees and supply their own transportation to and from the meeting locations.
